Charles Ayensu Okai is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Laboratory Technology.

He obtained his MSc. (Pharmaceutical Analysis & Quality Control) and BSc. Chemistry degrees from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, Ghana in 2006 and 2002 respectively. He won a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholarship in April, 2016 to pursue his doctoral studies at Prof. Dr. Michael O. Glocker’s lab (Proteome Center Rostock, University of Rostock, Germany) and his research area was on the development of screening/diagnostics approaches for intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) in early pregnancies with special interest in applying Affinity-mass spectrometry methods and obtained his Dr. rer. hum. (PhD) degree in October, 2020

His research interests are in development of proteomic techniques to study some polygenic diseases in Ghana.
