Mr. Daniel Ataanya Abera is a lecturer and a researcher in the Department of Laboratory Technology, Faculty of Health Sciences. As a Biochemist, I have been involved in several biochemical and molecular biology research projects in the areas of gestational diabetes mellitus, human genetic diversity studies, and PCR-based molecular diagnosis of diseases.
Currently, my research is focused on heavy metal assessment of food crops (fruits, vegetables and nuts) grown along major streams in Ghana, Nutritional intervention in some non-communicable diseases such as gestational diabetes and hypertension and also focused a number of my research on the food environment, PCR-based molecular diagnosis and genetic analysis of diabetes in the African population.
