Elijah is a lecturer and researcher with considerable experience. His teaching activities comprised tenure of numerous classes within the curricula of Bachelor of Technology and Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering at the Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) in Ghana. Also, he works as a sessional academic staff at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney, teaching and tutoring in various courses in the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in the School of Built Environment. He convenes, teaches, and tutors in courses such as Industrial and Infrastructure Construction, Introduction to Construction Management and Property, Organisation and People Management in Construction, Design Project Management, Value Creation for Construction Clients, Management of Construction Organisations, and High-Rise Building Construction.

Further, Elijah has been involved in various research projects in the field of construction management, particularly in the areas of work health and safety in the construction industry. The outcomes of his research works have been published in top-tier scientific journals, with significant number of citations. In addition, he has served as a reviewer for several reputable journals and has been invited as a speaker in many academic conferences.

Also, Elijah’s experience in the organisation and control of examinations in the university setting is remarkable. He has been involved in the organisation of examinations at the KsTU since 2005, rising from Departmental Examinations Officer to Faculty Examinations Officer through to the Chief Examinations Officer of the University. Without a doubt, his deep involvement in examinations speaks to his personal integrity.

Furthermore, Elijah has served in numerous leadership and management positions within and outside KsTU. He was appointed to several Boards and Committees at KsTU, including the University’s Governing Council, Academic Board, Executive Committee and numerous other Statutory and Adhoc Committees. In fact, he was appointed to the Governing Council of KsTU by the President of the Republic of Ghana. Additionally, he was elected and served as the Chairman of the Polytechnics/ Technical Universities Teachers Association (POTAG/TUTAG, KsTU Chapter) from November 2015 to August 2018.

Elijah combines his teaching, research, and other academic duties very well with his engineering practice. He has been involved in managing construction projects, particularly in the areas of design and construction of community water supply projects. He makes use of his project planning and management expertise and computer-aided programs in the project planning and control process.
