He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the KNUST, Ghana in 2003, and a Master of Science degree in the Mechanical Engineering (Design and Production) in the same institution in 2011. He lectures mechanical design and production engineering, strength of materials as well as engineering materials, quality assurance, and manufacturing systems related courses.
His research interests broadly include bio-energy, solar and solar thermal applications, and product and process quality improvement in engineering manufacture. His other experiences in the renewable energy sector includes among others active involvement in the first CDM programme of activities for clean cookstoves in Ghana, data collection of renewable energy and energy efficiency in the Gambia, research and development of solar dryers for drying of agricultural produce in Ghana, and mapping of stakeholders in the Clean Cookstove Sector of Ghana.
He has received training in the Design, Installation and Maintenance of Solar Powered Stand-Alone systems as well as complimentary software such as HOMER. He has attended a number of seminars including Renewable Energy Expert Information Seminar for Ghana, Nigeria and the Gambia held in Germany. He is currently focused on optimising solar dryer designs for applications especially in the Agricultural sector. Ing. Ribeiro is the current coordinator for Solar Energy at the CREK, Kumasi, Ghana.
