Peggy Maansah Ankai Howard was born on the 3rd June, at Obuasi in Adansi West district in the Ashanti region. Peggy Howard Following her nursery education at the Boaponsem Primary School, ( Dunkwa-on Offin) had her middle school certificate at Maxwell Rub Preparatory School at Cape Coast in the Central region in 1986 and had her ordinary level certificate at Nkroful Agriculture Secondary School in the Western region in 1992. Peggy is an experienced and authentic leader who brings integrity, purpose and commitment to engaging people across many domains inside and outside the university.
She had a certificate in intermediate from Kumasi Technical University, then Kumasi Polytechnic in the Ashanti region in 1995, modelling at Lafayette academy of modelling in the Greater Accra region in 1996, advanced, city and guilds fashion, at the institute of fashion studies and development in the Ashanti region in 2003.
She received her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s of Technology at the Akenten Appiah Minka University of Skills, Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) the then University of Education Winneba (Kumasi), in the year 2007, and 2011 respectively.
Currently, she is undergoing Doctor of Philosophy in Arts and Culture in the University of Education, Winneba. Peggy Maansah Ankai Howard is an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Fashion Design and Textile Studies, Kumasi Technical University. She has been with the department for 15 years as an instructor in 2007 to 2010 Key Roles and Responsibilities: Lecturing in Beauty Culture, Fashion Merchandising, Engaging in industrial attachment supervision, Preparing and moderating examination questions, Conducting quizzes and mid-semester examinations and Researching into the best practices in the subject area. Modelling coordinator (part-time): Kumasi Technical University then Kumasi Polytechnic 1997- 1999. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Organising fashion shows, Fashion show modelling instructor and Assessing student performance in modeling and fashion shows. She was promoted to the rank of lectureship in the year 2011, and in 2016, the audit report demoted her to assistant lecturer to date with the reason that she holds a one (1) year Master of Technology certificate. Since her appointment as a staff in the Department of Fashion Design and Textiles Studies, Peggy Howard has served and continue to serve the university in diverse ways and capacities. She is currently a member of the university sports team, head of sponsorship for fashion shows, one of the patrons in the department, a member of the faculty counselors, and supervisor for the cosmetology section in the faculty? Her research interest cover academic gowns, fashion merchandising, beauty culture, garment and run-way fashion modelling. She has attended series of workshops/ exhibition / seminars which include;

May 2015. Sponsorship Coordinator: 2016 Exhibition and Fashion Show of the Fashion and Textiles Studies Department held at the New Great Hall, Kumasi Polytechnic to Showcase HND Three Students’ Fashion and Textiles Collections; 6th -10th May 2015, Ethical Fashion Initiative Outreach Workshop held on March 28, 2013, at the Miklin Hotel, Kumasi, The Ethical Fashion Initiative Ghana Project was a joint effort between Switzerland’s State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), the International Trade Centre (ITC) and the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MOTI) – Ghana, Promoting staff development through collaborative research and quality teaching in education, Winneba 2023.
Her competencies and skills are: Excellent communication and organizational skills, High sense of integrity and strong leadership skills, Self- motivated innovative and Result-oriented, Excellent time management and human relation, Excellent research skills, Strong analytical and presentation skills, Effective Lecturer, Responsible person, Work with no supervision and Self-managing and capable of handling unexpected situations. Peggy Maansah Ankai Howard is a Christian who worships at Kpehe Methodist Church, Carprise. She is married to Kweku Bedu Simpson and the couple have been blessed with three lovely children –Maame Araba, Abaku and Maame Dankyi.
