Rowena Fatchu Kansanba is a Lecturer at the Department of Fashion Design and Textile Studies, FCAT, KsTU. She holds HND in Fashion Design and Textile Studies from Kumasi Polytechnic now Kumasi Technical University in 2006. She did her National Service with Tamale Polytechnic now Tamale Technical University and received her first appointment with them in 2008 as an instructor. She went further to pursue a Diploma in Education from the University of Education-Winneba (Kumasi Campus) in 2010. In 2015, she obtained a BA Industrial Art (Textile Option) degree from KNUST and MPhil Integrated Art (Fiber and Fabrics Technology) from the same University in 2019.   She is currently a doctoral student pursuing Fashion Design Technology at KNUST. Her Doctoral research is on “The Impact of Technology Adoption by Medium and Large-scale Garment Manufacturing Firms in Ghana.”

Up until 2017, she worked with Tamale Technical University as an Instructor from 2008 to January 2017. In February 2017, she transferred to Kumasi Technical University as Principal Instructor. After completing her degree programs, she was promoted to Assistant Lecturer in 2020 and Lecturer in 2022. 

She has worked on committees at the Department and Faculty level and coordinated fashion shows for the department’s Final year HND students. She currently serves as a member on the IDCE Faculty Board, University Result Audit Team, Blended Learning Committee.

She facilitates courses in Pattern Drafting, Clothing Manufacturing Processes, Clothing Management Technology, History of Fashion.

Her research interest covers fashion, sustainability, textile design, technology adoption, fashion marketing, Product design and CAD. She loves to read, mentor students, teach. She functions well in a tidy and organized environment and strives to make exploits in the fashion industry with her sense of innovation and creativity
